We find out that Gail’s donates unsold bread
Beatrice Ridley came to talk to the children about what happens to the daily surplus bread and cakes at Gail’s in Barnes. We learnt that they are not wasted, but are given to people less fortunate than ourselves.
A visit to the greengrocers
Our favourite books’ the little class visited the greengrocers in Barnes to buy some fruit that is featured in The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
